Quick Recap of our 2023 Winter Promotions

One week ago today on Friday, Dec 15th, 2023 we had our winter promotions at Next Generation Martial Arts in Thibodaux. Promotion days are always memorable, and yes some promotions are more memorable than others, but all are significant dates in your martial arts training. A journey in jiu jitsu, taekwondo, karate, or any other martial art should not be about the pursuit of rank. It should be about acquiring skills on the journey. Acquiring rank is a byproduct of the process.

In Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu, rank is a representation three components:

1. GRIT - Embrace struggle and crave the battle.

2. TECHNIQUE - Your technical skill.

3. FLOW - The ability to flow from one problem set to another seamlessly.
